Hey guys! I’ve listened to every episode of the podcast and love it. I had thought about telling you my story, because it is different from yours, and when J.C. mentioned his uvula swelling, I knew I had to do it. My uvula has swollen on numerous occasions, and even burst while brushing my teeth while on a mission trip in Michigan while I was in college. I now have a scar on it, but it hasn’t swelled since having my tonsils out when I was 27. I don’t recommend that, however.
My family went to an independent Baptist church when I was a kid, and I was saved and baptized there. Actually, the pastor who baptized me has been mentioned on the podcast at least twice: Rayton Puckett. The difference for me is that I was never really on the inside of the IFB movement. We left that church when I was pretty young, but my parents remained legalistic in their beliefs even after we became Southern Baptists, and they eventually went back to the IFB after I left home. I’m now a SBC pastor, and there are lots I would love to share with you.
