I sent in my story earlier today, but I forgot to add an important detail to my story. When our pastor was preaching that my daughter’s boyfriend should not put his arm around my daughter in front of the whole church he used the verse about it not being good to “touch a woman”. He totally took the verse out of context I believe. I mean, he shakes hands with all the women in the church. Isn’t that “touching” women? He said the verse literally means to touch a woman, so how does he justify himself? I’d like to know your thoughts on this verse and targeting or correcting someone from the pulpit. And when he was questioned about the context, of course I’m wrong for questioning something a preacher said. I’m just tired of Scripture being used out of context and having to take everything a preacher says as gospel just because of who is saying it.
