Hey guys, I listen to your podcast on the regular and I’d prefer to stay anonymous to the public at this time. I am an Independent Baptist and have no intent on changing, however, I have seen some things both good and bad (enough good that I believe my generation is fed up with this junk, and are doing something about it). I grew up in an IFB Church, I graduated from an IFB institute, I’ve worked at 2 IFB Churches, and I will soon Pastor an IFB Church. I do however see a lot of sin and a lot of problems that is really hurting the cause of Christ. I worked for a man for nearly 9 years. I want to share with you my story, because I’ve seen a Church handle a particular situation right, while the IFB buddy system just shipped a “fallen” Pastor off to another ministry. I resigned my position as his Assistant in October 2018, committed to move to Michigan in January of 2019, my last day on Church staff was March 10, and then on April 7 it felt like all Hell broke loose. It was discovered by another man in our Church that the Pastor had molested his daughter, it was absolutely devastating. I looked up to him. He was one of my dearest friends. The Church immediately contacted the police, there was an investigation, and long story short, the Church is moving on with a new Pastor. Here is where I’ve been so disheartened, shortly after the new year, I started hearing through the grapevine that he was preaching out and even candidated at a few Churches. I know his buddies that are around him started changing their stories to help him get back in the ministry. I also know that some won’t have anything to do with him anymore. Anyways, I wanted to briefly share my story with you guys to let you know that there are some younger guys coming up in the IFB world that are sick of this crap and trying to stand against it. Thanks again for taking the time to do the podcast and to read this email.
