I was raised in a heavily IFB church/school with a pastor that is very well know IFB pastor/singer who I won’t mention because y’all Temple guys will know exactly who I’m talking about and I do not want to slander him or his congregation. My wife and I are currently members of an IFB church but it is nothing like the toxic environment that I grew up in and there’s no doubt in our minds that the Lord put us in this church for a reason. We both believe it was for necessary growth but the Lord has been removing the blinders of the legalism that is in the IFB world and is molding us into what He desires us to be. My wife and I both believe God has called us to Missions, the homeless especially in our area of Macon Georgia. We don’t hold to the belief of KJV only and all the legalistic standards that are preached along with it. We do not want to base the ministry that God is working in our hearts on the extra biblical standards and “old time way” of doing things. I have been immersed in IFB culture since I was 11 and my father and mother are very much against the going away from the IFB. I love my family, I love my pastor and the church we are members of now, but my heart is longing for true freedom in Christ and serving Him the way that He intends for us to serve and worship Him and I don’t believe that is in the IFB. I just don’t know how to walk away when A)my wife and I hold positions and have responsibilities in our church and B) I have the fear of being shunned by my own blood for leaving this movement.
A call to missions but not IFB missions

I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
Can you be more specific about the content of your article? After reading it, I still have some doubts. Hope you can help me.
